What Is a Profile In SyncriTix

A profile in SyncriTix defines:

  • The email address you want to enable ticketing for. Such as, support@yourcompany.com, or sales@yourcompany.com
  • How messages for these addresses come into SyncriTix
  • One or more agents can be granted access to view and respond to tickets.

Types Of Profiles

Standard Profile - Easy to setup

This type is the easiest to configure, but the email address will be like support@yourcompany.syncritix.com. In other words, the address's domain name will end with .syncritix.com.

SyncriTix will handle incoming messages and route their response through its email servers. No configuration is required on your end.

Custom Profile - More flexible

You can use your domain and route emails from addresses like support@yourcompany.com or sales@yourcompany.com into SyncriTix. This option gives you more flexibility but requires some configuration on your end.

Custom profiles are further divided into two categories:

  • Forwarded emails
    • You configure your email system to forward inbound emails to an email address hosted on SyncriTix.
    • Outbound emails will go through SyncriTix's email server. You will need to configure SPF and DKIM.
  • Using IMAP/POP3, and SMTP
    • SyncriTix will connect to your email system and use IMAP or POP3 to fetch email.
    • SyncriTix will send outbound messages through your SMTP server.

When creating profiles, SyncriTix will guide you through the configuration steps. For further help, you can always email or telephone our support department.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many profiles can I create?

Each profile represents a shared email address, such as support@yourcompany.com. The maximum number of profiles depends on the product tier you select. Refer to our pricing page for details.

Q: I want to use my spam filter before SyncriTix processes emails. Which type of profile should I select?

Select the Custom profile with the IMAP/POP3 and SMTP options. This type will receive incoming messages from your email server and will route the outbound messages through the same server.

Q: I am using the IMAP/POP3 and SMTP options, which allow SyncriTix to fetch messages. Will these messages be deleted from my inbox after SyncriTix fetches them?

Messages will be deleted from the inbox if you use POP3, but they will stay in your inbox if you use IMAP.
